White's treefrog
Ranoidea caerulea
The first frog. Clean water is not optional. Stagnant water turns toxic.
- Handling
- Minimal. Hands-off display frog with a clown face.
- Enclosure
- Tall, with a large water dish they can sit in. Live or fake plants. A tight lid.
- Heat
- 75–85°F. They like warm nights more than a desert lizard does.
- Humidity
- 50–70% with a daily mist and a dry-out. Not a swamp.
- Diet
- Gut-loaded insects. Calcium. They will overeat if you let them.
White's or an Argentine horned frog. Red-eyes, mantellas, and darts come later.
